Painting of roses

I’ve finally finished my first painting of roses (I have a feeling there will be more, as I love roses…) …and also my first painting of 2024!

This one was a REAL challenge because roses are so iconic, and I just couldn’t quite ‘get’ it… I decided I was ‘thinking’ too much and not ‘feeling’ enough. Sure enough, a couple of impulsive slashes and dots of colour here and there, and it clicked together like a jigsaw puzzle!

I’m really happy with how colourful this painting is, and how the yellow ‘glows’…
